Recently, the meme game has become more and more popular, and even started to have practical uses.

For example, the matter of scientific research papers, originally the papers were written painstakingly by scientific researchers all over the world, but this business has long been controlled by several global literature websites. Not only are the downloads expensive, but the researchers also have not received any benefits~

Gradually, people in the academic community began to resist and started to freely disseminate academic materials.

Actually, it’s quite simple, just collect the scientific research databases and make them available for free download by anyone.

The most successful project among them is Sci-Hub, which was established in 2011, and its founder is Alexandra Elbakyan from Kazakhstan (hereinafter referred to as A sister).

This project is so successful that Sister A was named one of the top 10 scientists in the 2016 Nature magazine.

But this matter has stirred up the interests of many vested parties. Sci-Hub has been sued multiple times since 2015 and was ordered to pay Elsevier $15 million in 2017.

The impact of this project is not limited to this. Sister A’s tweets, which are now being formulated on Twitter, are still protesting against Twitter’s blocking of Sci-Hub’s official Twitter account in 2021.

Although there are many people in the academic community using Sci-Hub, compared to the vested interest groups, the voice is still too small, so many ordinary people don’t know what happened here.

But all of this may be changed by MEME.

First, CZ and V God spontaneously participated in Desci’s event, directly igniting the distributed science track:

Then there is encryption and academic circle double OG, the big shot AA from Peking University discovered the meme of fair distribution: $scihub, realizing that this could be a very attractive story for Desci, and then bought it as a big institution.

A few hours ago, AA contacted A Sister in a very grand manner, intending to donate more than 20% of their Holdings to Sci-Hub:

You have to know that Sister A has been fighting against these academic tycoons alone for many years, and her main source of income is donations.

After this $scihub meme goes viral, A-jie might be able to live a life that matches her contributions.

Currently, the market capitalization of $scihub is $50 million, and Sister A has already received donations worth $5.5 million.

In addition, A sister can continue to receive 9% of donations in the next year.

This amount of funds should be enough for A sister to achieve financial freedom in Kazakhstan~

In addition, for ordinary people who do not understand academia, trading $scihub can also be considered a contribution to the academic community~
