The encounter between these two people is destined to be a collision of power and belief.

Introduction
On the power chessboard on both sides of the Atlantic, two names are redefining the rules: Trump and Musk.
Trump is the spokesperson for populism, using simple and direct slogans to incite supporters and aim to reshape the glory of the American Dream with the goal of “making America great again.” On the other hand, Musk is completely different. He is the tech guru of Silicon Valley, believing in the future, technology, and the vastness of the universe. He believes that traditional politics is nothing more than an outdated tool, and information and technology are the core of power.
The encounter between these two people is destined to be a collision of power and belief.
A country that wants to pull the United States back into the past and turn it into an isolated mountain top;
An attempt to establish a brand new global power system through information technology.
This conflict was planted in the 2021 Capitol Hill incident and has been brewing in the following years, eventually leading the United States towards an invisible “information coup.”
Act One: The Spark of the Capitol Hill Incident
On the morning of January 6, 2021, Washington was shrouded in a heavy gray fog, and an uneasy feeling permeated the cold air.
In front of the Capitol, thousands of Trump supporters gathered, wearing red MAGA hats and holding signs that read ‘election fraud’ and ‘re-election’, shouting slogans. Their anger and resentment seemed to want to destroy the Capitol. The crowd’s anger grew stronger, even the on-site police felt threatened.
At Mar-a-Lago, Trump’s luxurious private dining room in Florida, the protest is being broadcasted on TV. There is a complex smile on his face, a kind of satisfaction mixed with a hint of unease. He takes a bite of his McDonald’s burger and says to his assistant, ‘Look at these people, they love America, they know the truth.’
However, his supporters were not satisfied with just a simple demonstration. They began to break through the police line, forcefully pushing down the metal fence. The sound of shattering glass and the protesters’ shouts intertwined, becoming the main theme of Washington that day. A few minutes later, groups of protesters stormed the Capitol, smashing windows, overturning tables and chairs, and even entering the meeting rooms, taking selfies of the ‘victorious moments’ with their phones.
All of this is broadcasted globally through live footage.
On the other side of the Earth, in a meeting room at the Shanghai Gigafactory, Musk sat in the main seat. In front of him was a report on TSL production capacity, but his gaze fell on the iPad screen handed to him by his assistant - CNN was live broadcasting the events at Capitol Hill. His brows furrowed, his eyes showing a complex expression almost akin to appreciation. He murmured, ‘This is not an ordinary protest, this is a force that can change history.’
On this day, the chaos on Capitol Hill has become the focus of global media attention. For Trump, it is his counterattack after losing the election; for Musk, it is a public lesson on populist power.
Act II: Trump’s Decline and Musk’s Ambition
The aftermath of the Capitol Hill incident quickly spread. The Democratic Party and mainstream media joined forces to launch a comprehensive reckoning against Trump.
“Clearing Trump” has become the main theme of 2021:
Account banned
Twitter, Facebook, and other social media platforms have all banned Trump’s account, depriving him of a direct communication tool with 80 million followers. This is the first time in his political life that he has been forced to ‘silence’.
Criminal charges
Dozens of criminal lawsuits have come one after another, forcing Trump to shuttle between the courtroom and the public eye.
Family Betrayal
Even his daughter Ivanka expressed disappointment in public about the Capitol Hill incident, which isolated Trump.
The mainstream public opinion unanimously believes that Trump’s political life has come to an end. However, Musk in Silicon Valley has a different view. He told his friends at a private gathering, “They underestimated Trump, but they underestimated the group behind him even more.”
In March 2021, Musk officially topped the Hurun Global Rich List and became the richest person in the world. His wealth has accumulated to the extreme, and his ambitions for power have quietly sprouted.
Publicly, Musk continues to play the role of a “white left” leader in the tech world. He supports environmental causes, advocates for the technological revolution of Decentralization, and even publicly criticizes Trump on Twitter as a “representative of the crisis of democracy.” But in private, he acted very differently.
In April 2022, Musk proposed a shocking plan to acquire Twitter for $43 billion.
This is not just a commercial transaction, but also a political gamble. He knows full well that social media is no longer just a tool for disseminating information, but a weapon that influences public perception. By controlling Twitter, he can control public opinion and even change the course of history.
Despite the Twitter board’s attempt to block this acquisition with a ‘poison pill’ plan, Musk was undeterred. Six months later, he successfully completed the transaction for 44 billion dollars and renamed it ‘X’.
Act Three: Musk’s Transformation and the Democratic Party’s Dilemma
2022, a year of turning point.
The outbreak of the Russo-Ukrainian war has forced the Biden administration to invest a large amount of resources in aiding the battlefield in Ukraine. However, the consequences of this war have quickly fermented domestically in the United States: inflation soaring, energy prices soaring, and the cost of living for the lower class increasing sharply. The White House continues to release statements claiming that the “U.S. economy is recovering,” but the fact is that the price of eggs in supermarkets has almost doubled, and the price of gasoline has become unbearable for many middle-class families.
Meanwhile, the issue of the US-Mexico border is escalating. The Biden administration has terminated the border wall plan from the Trump era, resulting in a surge of illegal immigration and a sharp deterioration of security in border towns. Every day, the mainstream media in the United States is filled with news of shootings, robberies, and zero-dollar purchases.
Musk keenly grasped all of this and realized that it was the best opportunity to redefine the power structure.
But in that year, his personal life also experienced a huge impact. His eldest son Xavier officially applied to the court for a gender change, becoming a woman, and publicly announced that he wanted to sever ties with his father. This event not only became a family crisis for Musk, but also made him realize the profound impact of ‘awakening culture’ on society.
Musk publicly criticized the transgender movement and the ‘woke virus’ for the first time on Twitter. His comments quickly sparked controversy but also gained support from some MAGA groups. He has never publicly admitted to being a Trump supporter but has started to identify himself with the ‘MAGA mask’ and gradually align with this political force.
However, this is just a tactic, Musk’s goals far exceed the scope of MAGA. He is well aware that his belief is not populism, but a technological dogma that transcends national boundaries and ideologies:
Social Darwinism;
Technological capitalism;
Egoism.
In Musk’s blueprint, the United States is just his power testing ground, and technology is his true power tool.
Act Four: The Rift Between Musk and Trump
At the beginning of 2023, the atmosphere in Washington is tense and delicate.
Elon Musk sat in the office at Twitter headquarters, with the screen in front of him displaying messages of gratitude from MAGA supporters for unblocking Trump’s account. He smiled gently, picked up a cup of coffee, but didn’t drink it. His gaze turned to the window, as if contemplating something.
At the same time, Trump held a secret meeting at the Mar-a-Lago estate. His advisory team made it clear that Musk’s intentions should not be underestimated, and his actions are more like an attempt to control the entire MAGA movement rather than support Trump.
“Who does Musk think he is? He will never understand what our beliefs are!” Trump angrily slammed the table. His advisors remained silent, knowing that the former president’s anger was building up, but no one dared to directly refute Musk’s importance.
The key reason for the gradual divergence of the two lies in their completely different definitions of power:
Trump’s MAGA movement, with populism at its core, believes that his power comes from the loyalty of grassroots supporters.
Musk, on the other hand, believes in the power of technology and capital. He sees Trump as just a pawn in the game of power, a temporary tool.
The differences are becoming increasingly public. In May 2023, Musk mentioned in an interview: ‘We should not be afraid of artificial intelligence, what we should really worry about is stupid leaders.’ Although not naming names, the Trump camp quickly interpreted this statement as a dig at Trump.
Act 5: Prelude to an Information Coup
In 2024, the preparations for the US presidential election are in full swing.
Behind the MAGA movement, Musk’s Silicon Valley Tech Group is accelerating its expansion. He has successfully acquired CNN and is integrating it into Twitter’s operating system. He has launched a new algorithm on the Twitter platform that can analyze user emotions in real time and push customized political content based on user interests.
The Trump team realized that Musk’s tweets were no longer a neutral platform. It was more like a weapon, a tool that could shape public perception. One of Trump’s senior advisors said at the meeting: ‘Even if we win the votes, it won’t matter if we can’t control public opinion.’
Meanwhile, Musk’s actions have become bolder.
He publicly announced that he will distribute Token rewards to every Twitter user who participates in the election to encourage ‘real and transparent voting’.
The non-profit organization he funded began running a large number of advertisements in key swing states, promoting the idea of “technology changing the world,” indirectly implying that Trump’s “outdated” policies will hinder America’s future.
This information war is not only an experiment in power, but also a global technological revolution. Musk is testing whether information control can directly influence election results. If successful, this will be one of the most disruptive changes in modern political history.
Outcome: Inevitable Confrontation
In November 2024, the United States welcomed a new presidential election.
Trump stood on a stage in Florida, delivering a speech to tens of thousands of supporters. His voice was hoarse, but his emotions were high: ‘This is not a regular election, this is a battle for the soul of America!’ Cheers erupted from the crowd, and the MAGA flag waved in the air.
Meanwhile, Musk is in a high-tech conference room in Silicon Valley, California, watching the data analysis results from CNN and Twitter. His team reports that his launched algorithm is able to accurately predict voters’ voting preferences and even change the direction of 5% of the votes through content push.
Trump emphasizes tradition and faith, while Musk shapes a futuristic utopian vision through technological means, two completely different power models, future conflicts are inevitable.
What is the outcome of this future confrontation?
The final answer has not yet been revealed, but what can be certain is that the impact of this power game will far exceed the United States, and even surpass the Earth itself.
What is the future of power? Who will control the fate of humanity? This “information revolution” will reveal the answers.
