AI Agent Alpha methodology: application to the left, platform to the right, both must be achieved to win

Another week dominated by AI Agent zone, have you found ALPHA yet?

Top tokens like ai16z and Fartcoin have been rising, while at the bottom, you can even see hundreds of self-proclaimed AI Agent tokens appearing on the watchlist in a single day.

So much, how do you choose?

If you are not a professional P player, an opening sniper, or a master of connections in the cryptocurrency industry, besides envying others’ winning rates, energy management, and information density, it is often difficult to determine whether a project has prospects after rushing in after FOMO.

From the perspective of ordinary leeks, you may not have a reliable judgment point.

In the process of selecting content materials and observing the market, the perennially losing editor also has a similar sense of powerlessness – can’t keep up, can’t buy in, can’t recover the cost, and can’t find the complete ins and outs.

Every second in the market is blurry and chaotic, but every now and then there seems to be a clear pulse.

Obviously, an ordinary editor’s attempt to diagnose the market for everyone would be laughed at; the following ideas are only for sharing, and the unconventional methods have at least partially cured the editor’s loss of money.

AI Agent Track Differentiation: Applications to the Left, Platforms to the Right

First of all, looking at the overall market, AI Agent is definitely still a hot track in the past one or two weeks. Especially with the launch of GOAT spot on OKX yesterday, it has once again driven the enthusiasm of the entire AI Agent track.

But beyond the unsustainable general rise, there is a growing sense of differentiation in the AI Agent race that has been running lately:

· Differentiation 1: It is a specialized AI Agent application that solves a specific type of problem, or has a specific type of identity/style

Representative projects: AIXBT, Truth Terminal

· Differentiation 2: It’s not a specific AI Agent application, but it gives you a shovel to create more new applications

Representative projects: Virtuals, ai16z (Eliza framework), Empyreal SDK

Roughly speaking, this is actually an evolution of application VS platform to some extent: from AI Agent being able to issue a coin, to a platform/tool allowing more AI Agents to issue coins.

Of course, this statement is not entirely accurate. In addition to Launchpad, some tools do not issue coins for AI Agents, but provide an environment for AI Agents to be used better and more effectively. Essentially, this type of logic is still not a single-point application, but a logic of platform and ecosystem.

More user-friendly and practical, tokenization adds more endorsement reasons to tokens and makes them more attractive to speculative capital.

Perhaps this logic is simply a reenactment of history.

In 2017, ICO was popular, and every project could issue coins through ICO. However, after ICO, Ethereum actually became the largest ICO platform, and various projects could deploy tokens on it through smart contracts.

The current popular AI Agent, each Agent can independently issue its own currency, but there are also framework and platform projects that allow everyone to quickly create AI Agents through various low thresholds, no code, or natural language ways.

History never repeats itself, but it rhymes with the same tune. Within the mainline of asset creation, the core has never changed.

Attention drives, capital stirs.

Note that the editor is not saying that platform/framework projects in the AI Agent track are stronger than purely AI Agent applications.

Strength and weakness are not determined by the direction of the project, but by the inflow and outflow of market funds after the game. Let’s use a more crude and straightforward statement to illustrate — Chips will go where the story is told longer.

What does it mean to tell a story longer?

We have certainly seen speed-pass boards that explode in one day, but more often than not, they are short-lived boards that only last for 1-2 hours. These types of tokens can attract a lot of funds in the short term, but they will also immediately lose blood and withdraw funds.

From a more easily understandable perspective, it is the capital’s belief that ‘your story won’t last long’.

Projects that can tell stories for a long time are more likely to attract attention. And attention drives heat, while funds stir ups and downs.

More specifically:

· Watching Meme = looking at its perspective

· Look AI Agent = Look at what it claims to be able to do

So the question becomes, which AI Agents claim to do something that you think they might do for a longer period of time?

After reading so many projects, the editor feels that the current AI Agents can be roughly divided into several categories from the perspective of their work (the original classification inspiration comes from this article):

1. Personalized Imitator

Simulate intelligence and mimic human behavior through conversation. Their job is not to solve problems, but to make people feel personalized and humanized.

This type of Agent, the personality is its own brand.

Typical representative: Bully, a BOT with a sharp tongue.

2. Efficiency-driven supervisor

By analyzing complex workflows, human intentions are accurately transformed into backend processes. Such processes may not have personalities, but they are definitely efficient, saving you time or solving specific problems.

Typical representative: Simmi AI, one sentence on Twitter, help you send a coin

3. Autonomous experimenter

By managing wallets, interacting with the system, and even starting tasks without the need for manual input. However, they have limited autonomy, waiting to be triggered, rather than being completely science fiction and able to act on their own.

Typical representative: Truth Terminal, the beginning of everything

4. Support the above types of platforms/frameworks

You can be a toxic AI, or a bot that helps you issue coins with just one sentence. Whatever the motivation, you cannot escape some necessary components:

To be an AI Agent, you need input of models, data, and cue words; to launch an AI token, you need a Launchpad.

Typical representatives: Virtuals (launchpad), Eliza (production framework)

If you rank the tokens in the current track by market value, it is not difficult to see that the top few projects cannot escape this classification.

So, which of these types of projects do you think will have a more enduring story?

First of all, in addition to the above-mentioned projects, for projects driven by external events/IP, if the event itself occurs in a single point, then its influence and persistence will decay, and the coin itself will lose value faster. For example, Ban Da Xiang Jiao is a very obvious example, and Luce is also showing signs of decline.

And in the AI Agent track:

· Projects that can create their own assets internally, because the assets (Agent) generated by UGC are a relatively decentralized concept, their influence and durability will come in waves, as there will always be new Agents running on their platform every now and then. Corresponding to the assets, their own currency will have fluctuations, but it will still spiral upwards, and in the end, the market value of the mother currency will be high, with several top AI Agents running on subsidiary currencies.

Projects that can consistently generate content, because the Agent application is constantly chatting and conversing, will strengthen its personalized brand. If you find it interesting, engaging, and with the potential for wealth, you will continue to pay attention. Attention means buying, which is why you can see their rise.

However, between these two, due to the ease of being stuck in the latter, for example, the toxic AI makes you think of Bully first, causing the focus to be on a few agents, the probability of success is far lower than that of platform classes.

Therefore, playing in the AI Agent track generally requires you to have a good concept, this concept (framework/programming platform/coin issuance platform…) can create more assets, and it seems that funding for such projects is more sustainable.

MAX and Alchemist AI, an example of platform + market gameplay

The above are some methodologies that the editor uses when reviewing projects. They may not be correct, but they can provide some reference for the standards for screening projects.

If you follow the idea of looking for platforms/frameworks, you will find at least two projects worth noting in the past week, and they have adopted the combination of ‘platform + market’. (Note: NFA is not a way to make money, just sharing the projects I have seen)

· Platform: A platform that helps you quickly build AI Agents or use AI Agents to quickly create products

· Market: The products can be traded on the built-in market, further driving activity and platform popularity.

1. $MAX and Distilled AI, Front and Rear Store Model

CA: oraim8c9d1nkfuQk9EzGYEUGxqL3MHQYndRw1huVo5h

Market Cap: 28M (around 500% increase from 6M on Monday)

MAX itself is a female AI agent image, and you can directly engage in dialogue with her.

However, her unique personality is that she is a BTC bull, and she will constantly promote the benefits of Bitcoin when chatting with you. At the same time, she also has a Bitcoin prediction market, where you can click on her avatar to go to this prediction market page and predict and bet on the future price of Bitcoin with $MAX tokens.

AI Agent and betting assets play to the fullest.

However, MAX is just an AI Agent, the real attraction that has caused its token market value to rise from around 6M to 28 in the past week, comes more from the front and back-end model behind her:

Attract traffic with MAX itself, and then let more people use the AI Agent behind it to create a platform (click here to visit).

The platform behind MAX actually comes from Distilled AI, which is a decentralized protocol that provides developers with access to confidential computing, private data processing, distillation protocol, data DAO, and secure access management infrastructure.

The protocol has also received support from L1 oraichain, which is dedicated to AI.

With Distilled AI, developers can build advanced applications that require AI agents not only to learn from private data in individual and collective settings under absolute data privacy, but also to autonomously perform various operations in Web3.

This mode is very similar to the relationship between Luna and Virtuals. However, the Distilled platform does not currently have a native currency online, and all value transfers on the platform are done using the MAX token.

And you can find more different types of Agents on the Marketplace of Distilled AI, similar to a built-in store for GPT.

At present, it seems that using other agents in this market does not require payment, but all agents themselves need to hold and pledge $MAX to work; it is not ruled out that there may be other relationships with MAX and the platform’s native currency in the future.

According to the project description, AI Agents created by others in these markets can also be tokenized, similar to the launch mechanism of Pump.fun. When the market value of the newly created token reaches 66k, it is supported by the bonding curve mechanism for token launch.

The obvious routine we can see from it is:

First, a friendly AI image leads, attracting you to use

Second, the platform has the ability to create AI Agents, and empower the native currency (currently MAX) with functions such as consumption and staking on the platform

Third, there is the concept of an application store and market, where a price discovery mechanism selects other popular AI Agents to expand the platform’s influence.

2. $ALCH (Alchemist AI) is a no-code application generation platform described only in text

Market Cap: 130M (27M on Monday, up 500%)

CA: HNg5PYJmtqcmzXrv6S9zP1CDKk5BgDuyFBxbvNApump

If the example of MAX above is completely a replica of Virtuals, then this Alchemist AI has taken a different approach:

You don’t need to create different AI Agents, but to create different applications and products using public AI capabilities.

The name of the project actually explains its function, which is like ‘alchemy’. By inputting natural language, the AI behind the Alchemist AI system will automatically process it to help you generate works.

The whole process is also very simple. Link the wallet, enter the description of the application you want, and the platform will run for a while and then generate the corresponding program for you (such as the editor in the screenshot trying to generate a game).

Of course, you can also download this work, or further fine-tune it by interacting with AI on the platform.

In fact, the concept of ‘no-code development platform’ is not new, but it is another breakthrough in the AI Agent track in the crypto market. Using the same AI capabilities to create different works has great value for community communication.

From the feedback of the community, everyone has played with Alchmesit to the extreme, and even created a Solana Shiba Inu filter and analysis evaluator through the platform:

In fact, this is similar to using the ability of GPT to do more application-oriented scenarios, but Alchemist has its own front-end page and can obtain more traffic value through operational events and community promotion.

Here, the role of the ALCH token is:

  1. If you want to create works with higher accuracy and better quality, you can use ALCH to enable the paid mode, and the results produced by AI will be better.

  2. Consume a certain amount of ALCH tokens and list your own works on the built-in market.

  3. Other people also need to pay ALCH to purchase and use your product

This is also a platform+market logic, that is, first provide you with a usable product development platform, and then carry the circulation and transfer functions of the works to the tokens, giving the tokens more value.

However, at present, the project’s page and the effect achieved by AI are still relatively rough, and the project is also being upgraded to V2 version. However, the market value of ALCH has surpassed 100 million in a week, which shows the market’s recognition of what it needs to do in the short term.

Overall, both of the above examples have adopted the platform + marketplace model, with the former focusing on product development and the latter on buying and selling products.

However, this does not mean that a project that combines these two elements will definitely rise. Here, only one example is provided to help everyone better assess and filter the value of AI projects that emerge every day.

There is no undefeated general in the cryptocurrency market, and the search for ALPHA is still difficult and long.
