Ubisoft quietly releases a new NFT game, 'Laser Eagle Captain: Game,' featuring Rayman

During the ‘Monkey Madness’ NFT craze, Ubisoft was one of the game developers who followed the blockchain trend closely. In Ghost Recon: Breakpoint, Ubisoft once released NFT equipment content. Now, Ubisoft, who is in a hurry, has quietly launched a new NFT game ‘Captain Laserhawk: The G.A.M.E’ after ‘Champion Tactics’.

The game, as its name suggests, Laser Avenger Captain: the game is a derivative game of the Laser Avenger animation released by Netflix and Ubisoft. Ubisoft provides ten thousand different ‘Ninja Warrior’ cards Non-fungible Tokens, which will change continuously based on the player’s performance and participation in the game. Ubisoft even brings out its signature character ‘Rayman’ to support this game.

Ubisoft claims that players of ‘Laser Hawk Captain: Game’ have full authority to vote on new maps, characters, seasonal updates, and key plot elements, directly participating in shaping the game’s future. However, the actual game footage provided by the official shows that it is a top-down multiplayer shooting game with a relatively ‘low-polygon’ graphics. It’s unclear how Ubisoft will incorporate the storyline into this game and make players feel involved. According to the official roadmap, ‘Laser Hawk Captain: Game’ is currently in early access, and although all ten thousand ninja warrior cards of the game have been minted, there are few trading activities. The game itself lacks appeal, and Ubisoft hasn’t done much promotion. It’s not surprising given the proven value of Non-fungible Tokens, and such a start is not unusual.
