In TechFlow news, on January 22, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said on Tuesday that thanks to President Trump’s $500 billion “Stargate” AI infrastructure plan, the United States is expected to be the first to achieve Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), he also added, “I think if it were another president, this might not have been possible. But we are very happy to be involved, and I believe this will be a huge benefit for Americans and the whole world.”

The project is operated jointly by OpenAI, Oracle, and SoftBank. However, Altman also called on the market to ‘lower expectations by 100 times’ on social media, emphasizing that OpenAI ‘will not deploy AGI next month’. The latest o3 model released by OpenAI has passed the ARC-AGI challenge test, which is seen as an important benchmark for AGI development. Altman stated that the company is focusing on research beyond AGI, aiming for superintelligence. However, AI researcher François Chollet pointed out that passing the ARC-AGI test does not equate to achieving AGI, and o3 still has significant limitations in simple tasks.
