Erdogan: U.S. and Iran Must Seize Ceasefire Window, Turkey Conducting Diplomatic Mediation

GateNews

Gate News message, April 15 — Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated on April 15 that Israel’s continued strikes on Lebanon are severely damaging hopes for regional peace. Regarding U.S.-Iran relations, Erdogan emphasized that the temporary ceasefire has created a valuable “opportunity window” that all parties must fully utilize. Despite existing disagreements, Turkey remains optimistic about the prospects of U.S.-Iran negotiations.

Erdogan noted that while the negotiation process may face difficult challenges, most issues can be resolved if all parties focus on the long-term benefits that peace would bring. He added that Turkey is actively conducting diplomatic mediation to ease military pressure from the United States and Israel on Iran, with the goal of extending the ceasefire period and maintaining dialogue between all parties.
