Trump tells aides he hopes to end Iran war within weeks

GateNews

Gate News reports that on March 26, U.S. President Trump told his aides that he hopes to avoid a prolonged war with Iran and aims to end the conflict within the next few weeks. However, Trump currently has no simple way to end the war, and peace negotiations are still in the early stages. During discussions with external political allies, Trump’s attention sometimes shifts to other topics, including the upcoming midterm elections, deploying immigration officials to airports, and pushing legislative strategies in Congress to tighten voter eligibility requirements. Sources familiar with the matter revealed that Trump told a colleague that the war has distracted him, preventing him from focusing on other priorities. Another person who recently spoke with Trump said the president seems ready to shift his focus to the next major challenge, though Trump did not specify what that is. Some allies hope he will focus on the Cuba issue, while his close advisors want him to prioritize the cost of living concerns that matter most to voters, as the war has worsened this issue. White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre responded, “President Trump is very good at handling multiple tasks at once and managing several challenges simultaneously. The president is fully committed to achieving military objectives against Iran. The president’s only goal is victory.”
