Gate News message, April 14 — U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance said on April 14 that he is “optimistic” about the current situation with Iran. He noted that there is significant distrust between the U.S. and Iran, which cannot be resolved overnight.
Vance is expected to lead a potential second round of U.S.-Iran negotiations, according to U.S. sources. Trump envoy Steve Witkoff and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner are also expected to participate.
Trump has tasked the three with advancing a diplomatic solution and maintaining contact with Iran and intermediaries. The U.S. is currently discussing arrangements for a second round of talks internally, but no decision has been made on whether or when it will take place.
