On the afternoon of the fourth day of the Lunar New Year, the sunshine is just right. Browsing through my phone, these two photos quietly rest in the album, providing more comfort than any New Year greeting message.
The first is "Green Mountains and Clear Waters" — truly, there’s no more fitting phrase. The layers of green, from my feet all the way to the horizon, deep green and light emerald, resemble the earth’s even breathing. The mountains stand still there, the road remains quiet, no words needed — it reminds me of when I was a child in the first month, and adults said, “The fourth day is for rest.” Turns out, this “rest” is hidden in the light and shadow of every leaf and mountain ridge.
The second is a forest trail. The gray bricks have been polished shiny by the passage of time, and the wooden railing bears traces of wind and rain. The path is narrow, quietly extending forward, neither rushing nor waiting. The grasses and trees on either side grow freely, yet they complement each other in the sunlight. Looking at this trail, I suddenly feel — the lively festivities of the New Year are wonderful, but being able to walk alone like this for a moment, listening to your footsteps, might be the true meaning of “bidding farewell to the old and welcoming the new.”
Two photos, one broad and open, the other deep and secluded. Like this year, there’s both the bustling reunion and a complete, personal space of solitude. Having seen the mountains and walked the path, my heart is full.
Turning around to push the door open, the warmth of the house mixed with the aroma of food hits me. Before the phone screen dims, I take one last look at the mountains and the road — they will always be there, waiting for us whenever we want a moment of peace, just a window push away. #Gate春节赛马红包嘉年华 #Gate香港活动来袭
