I am the stepfather, and my stepdaughter spends the entire winter break playing on her phone.

From sunset to dawn, she doesn’t eat, and when she’s hungry, she just snacks and drinks soda.
Even when she’s in school, she comes home and plays on her phone, often staying up until 3 or 4 a.m., and naps during class in the daytime.
I’ve never tried to restrict her, never confiscated her phone, and never knocked on her door when she stayed up late.
She always says that I am more gentle and understanding than her biological father,
but she doesn’t realize that this “gentleness” has never been love, but a cruel form of neglect.
I’m just too lazy to correct her, too lazy to argue, too lazy to worry about a child who isn’t related to me by blood.
She thinks I love her very much, but she doesn’t know that I am actually harming her.
I don’t care what she will become in the future. Her prospects, her life, have never been my concern.
I am just playing the role of a “good stepfather.”
