Why is going to work the fastest way to destroy people?

Because the essence of employment is that you "wholesale" your life time to a company, and the company then "retails" your labor output to the market through its organizational structure.

This means you lose the most important wealth leverage.

Even if you work 24 hours a day, your returns are capped and only grow linearly.

But the marginal profits generated by your labor output should grow exponentially, yet they all belong to those who control the means of production.

You're using the scarcest asset——non-renewable time——to exchange for constantly depreciating fiat currency.

Going to work makes you appear busy every day, but you're actually just doing high-frequency muscle memory repetitions in a low-dimensional space.

Moreover, your cognitive bandwidth gets depleted daily by countless meaningless meetings, crafting language for reports to superiors, and managing interpersonal boundaries with colleagues.

The most direct consequence of this is:

When you drag your hollowed-out body home at 8 PM, you have no residual energy left for deep learning or side projects.

You can only numbing yourself passively by scrolling short videos to produce cheap dopamine.

The result of three years of experience spread over ten years is——it will completely ossify your cognitive boundaries, causing you to lose the capacity to handle the complexity of the real world.
