02 Product Innovation: Gas-Free Swap
What is Gas-Free Swap
In traditional swap transactions, users must pay transaction fees (i.e., gas fees) using the native asset of the current network (such as ETH, BNB, etc.). If the wallet’s native asset balance is insufficient, the swap process cannot be initiated or completed.
Now, Gate Layer’s on-chain Swap officially supports gas-free exchange. When the system detects that your wallet’s native asset balance is insufficient, it will automatically deduct the necessary portion from your payment token to cover the gas fees for the transaction.
Currently, this gas-free swap feature is only available on Gate Layer, but we plan to gradually expand it to more networks in the future. Before initiating a swap, please check whether the interface displays the prompt "You can use tokens to offset gas fees." Note that the gas-free feature only takes effect upon a successful swap; if the swap fails, no gas offset will occur.
How to Use Gas-Free Swap
Users can experience this innovative feature by following these steps:
- Go to the Swap page, select the token you wish to exchange on Gate Layer, and click confirm to enter the "secondary confirmation popup."
- If your wallet has no available GT balance, the system will prioritize using your payment token as a gas offset (ensure your payment token balance is sufficient to trigger this feature).
- In the "secondary confirmation popup," if you see the message "You do not have enough network fees, the swap will use [Token] to pay network fees," it indicates that you can use the gas-free swap feature.
- Click confirm and authorize the wallet transaction. You can then view detailed gas offset information in "Transaction History."
Users can open the swap history details and view "Network Fee Offset Details" under the estimated network fee. Clicking it will open a popup showing the specific offset path, and you can also click "Transaction Hash" for more information. Please note, the gas-free offset only completes if the swap is successful; if the swap fails, this process will not occur.
03 Recent Event Highlights
TURTLE Airdrop Event
Gate Web3 BountyDrop launched the TURTLE airdrop event on November 6 (UTC).
Users can access the BountyDrop module through the "Discover" page on the Gate Web3 App to participate in tasks.
Gate will randomly select 1,000 participants who complete the tasks to share a total of 100,000 TURTLE.
Meme Go Zero-Fee Trading Carnival
The Gate Meme Go event runs from October 24, 10:00 UTC to November 9, 10:00 UTC, with a total prize pool of $20,000.
The event features multiple reward mechanisms:
