Goldene Finanz berichtet, die Marshallinseln haben den weltweit ersten landesweiten Grundeinkommens (UBI) auf Basis der digitalen Souveränitätsanleihe USDM1 über die Stellar-Blockchain ausgegeben. USDM1 ist in US-Dollar denominiert, jede Einheit ist eins zu eins besichert und vollständig durch US-Staatsanleihen mit kurzer Laufzeit gedeckt. Die Auszahlung erfolgt über die spezielle digitale Brieftasche Lomalo in Echtzeit an Bürger auf verstreuten Inseln, um traditionelle Bargeldzahlungen zu ersetzen. Das Finanzministerium erklärte, dass dieses Programm ein Haushaltsverteilungsprojekt und keine Geldschöpfung sei.
