According to a CNBC interview this week, SoftBank CEO Masayoshi Son disclosed that OpenAI's next-generation model is being designed by another AI model, signaling progress toward superintelligence. Son, whose company is a major OpenAI shareholder, said engineers told him an AI model is currently designing future models. He predicted that within two years, AI will surpass human capabilities in 70–80% of knowledge domains, with abilities potentially 10 times higher than average humans in fields where it has already exceeded human performance.
