According to BlockBeats, on July 26, Anthropic core member Julian Schrittwieser posted on X criticizing NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang's support for open-weight AI models, sarcastically stating he looks forward to seeing CUDA and GPU driver code open-sourced.

This follows Huang's first personal tweet sharing an open letter titled "Open Weights and American AI Leadership," co-signed by over 20 tech companies and organizations including Meta, Microsoft, Andreessen Horowitz, Hugging Face, IBM, Mistral AI, Palantir, Perplexity, Mozilla, and Y Combinator. The letter argues the U.S. needs both leading closed-source and open-source models, and governments should not prematurely restrict open-source AI. Notably, Anthropic did not sign the letter.
