Bipartisan U.S. Senators Introduce Resolution Opposing Trump's Pardon of SBF on Wednesday

According to BlockBeats, on June 18, Republican Senator Cynthia Lummis and Democratic Senator Ruben Gallego support a non-binding resolution to be introduced Wednesday opposing any presidential pardon, commutation, or form of executive clemency for former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried. The resolution states SBF should not receive clemency under any circumstances, noting that granting a pardon would "erase his conviction, weaken deterrence, and send a serious wrong signal that perpetrators of massive financial fraud can escape permanent accountability." The resolution carries no legal force since presidential pardon authority derives from the Constitution.
