Bybit Restricts Services to 29 EEA Countries Ahead of July 1 MiCA Deadline

According to Bybit, on June 29, the exchange announced it will progressively limit access to certain services on its global platform for residents of the European Economic Area, citing regulatory alignment ahead of the EU's Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) taking full effect on July 1. The restrictions cover 29 EEA countries spanning the European Union, Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway. Affected users will receive advance notice and retain access to unwind existing positions. The move reflects broader industry pressure, as only about 210 of more than 3,000 crypto firms operating across Europe secured full MiCA authorization by the deadline.
