Chinese Fluorochemical Firms Achieve G5-Grade Semiconductor HF Breakthrough, Expand into AI Cooling Fluids

According to a Light Securities research report, Chinese fluorochemical firms are advancing into high-performance fluorinated materials, with focus on building second growth curves. In semiconductor manufacturing, G5-grade electronic-level hydrofluoric acid has long been monopolized by Japanese and U.S. companies but Chinese enterprises have recently overcome ultra-pure production barriers through integrated supply chain advantages, achieving certifications from leading global foundries and entering mass production phases.

Meanwhile, surging AI and data center thermal densities are driving liquid cooling adoption. Chinese firms are expanding into perfluoropolyether (PFPE) coolants, leveraging their insulating, non-flammable and superior thermal management properties for immersion cooling applications requiring high safety and power density.
