CZ Burns Tens of Thousands of Spam Memecoins on BNB Chain, Denies Links to $CZ, $TCC, $AB

According to a recent statement from Binance co-founder Changpeng Zhao, he burned tens of thousands of memecoins from his personal BNB Chain address to a burn wallet. The action sparked speculation that Zhao was making a symbolic gesture, but CZ clarified the transfers were routine spam cleanup. His address had accumulated numerous tokens—many unwanted—which disrupted the wallet's interface display. Rather than transfer them back, Zhao sent the tokens directly to a burn address where they are permanently removed from circulation. Zhao separately denied any connection to three memecoins—$CZ, $TCC, and $AB —after a crypto blogger had previously published promotional posts claiming ties between the projects and Zhao. CZ confirmed he does not own these tokens and has no knowledge of their creators.
