EU to Sanction 11 Crypto Platforms Over Russia Evasion on June 10; 90 Banks Targeted

According to Bits.media, on June 10, the European Union plans to impose sanctions on 11 cryptocurrency platforms in its 21st sanctions package, accusing them of helping Russian authorities and businesses evade international sanctions. The EU will also tighten restrictions on crypto asset services to third countries and ban transactions with the 11 platforms, though their names have not been disclosed. The new measures also target approximately 90 Russian banks, with 31 facing potential full transaction bans, according to EU officials including High Representative Kaja Kallas.
