Google Acquires AI Security Firm Wiz for $32 Billion as AI Safety Funding Hits 144 Rounds in 2025

According to Forbes, on June 6, Google acquired AI security company Wiz for $32 billion, the company's largest acquisition in history. Wiz generated over $1 billion in annual recurring revenue (ARR) in 2025 and counts roughly half of Fortune 100 companies as customers.

AI security became the most active segment in cybersecurity last year, with 144 funding rounds completed by AI safety firms compared to only 15 for traditional cloud security companies. However, competition is intensifying: over 300 AI security startups have been founded in the past three years, yet only about 10 have completed acquisition exits, signaling industry consolidation ahead.
