iPhone 18 Gets 9GB RAM but Cannot Support iOS 27's Key AI Features, Kuo Says

According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo's latest supply chain report, Apple's iPhone 18 standard model launching in spring 2027 will feature upgraded 9GB RAM and an A20 chip, but cannot support two system-level AI features in iOS 27 that require 12GB of memory: customizable Siri voice with adjustable emotion, speed and tone, and offline system dictation with local AI optimization for punctuation and tone recognition. The iPhone 18 Pro series and foldable iPhone Ultra, due fall 2026, will retain 12GB RAM with more powerful A20 Pro chips and will fully support these features, widening the AI experience gap between standard and flagship models.
