Iran Demands Asset Unfreezing in Phased Implementation of US Deal, July 1 Talks in Doha

According to sources, Iran's delegation demanded phased implementation of a previously agreed memorandum of understanding with the US during indirect talks in Doha on July 1, with a focus on unfreezing frozen Iranian assets to be transferred to Iran's central bank for food supplies.

Iranian representatives also reiterated their stance on the Strait of Hormuz governance, stating the waterway should be under Iranian and Omani control and rejecting unauthorized shipping routes; affirmed Iran's commitment to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and pledged cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency; and condemned Israel's military presence in Lebanon, describing it as undermining the US-Iran memorandum's implementation.
