KT to Invest $11.8 Billion in AI Infrastructure and Stablecoin Business on July 6

According to Yonhap, KT Corp., a South Korean telecoms operator, announced on July 6 that it will invest approximately 18 trillion won ($11.8 billion) over the next three years to expand AI infrastructure and become an AI platform company. The investment includes 5 trillion won ($3.25 billion) for AI data centers with 1 gigawatt of capacity, 4 trillion won ($2.6 billion) for zero-trust cybersecurity and IT innovation, and 1 trillion won ($650 million) for submarine cables. KT also announced plans to build a token factory and enter stablecoin-related businesses.
