According to Malaysian police, authorities dismantled a Bitcoin mining syndicate on July 22 and 23 following raids across four premises in Johor, Malaysia. Three local men were arrested and 71 cryptocurrency mining rigs were seized in the operation, which generated an estimated RM80,000 to RM100,000 ($25,000) in monthly profits. The bust was carried out by the Johor Contingent Police Headquarters' Criminal Investigation Department in collaboration with Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), the national electricity utility. Police said the syndicate operated through four rented premises—three residential homes and one shophouse in Iskandar Puteri, Johor Bahru Utara, and Kulai. Authorities also seized two computers, two laptops, five routers, and two vehicles. All three suspects, aged 26 to 46, were remanded until July 26.
