Michael Burry Discloses Short Positions; Samsung Electronics, SOXX Fall 14-12% on July 5

According to Business Insider, on July 5, investor Michael Burry disclosed short positions in Micron, Nvidia, Applied Materials, Caterpillar, Tesla, and the iShares Semiconductor ETF (SOXX) via Substack, triggering sharp declines across related stocks. Samsung Electronics fell 14% and SK Hynix dropped 17% over two days, while SOXX declined 12%, Applied Materials fell 17%, Micron 15%, Nvidia about 3%, Caterpillar 11%, and Tesla 6%. Burry called SOXX a "textbook case of overvaluation" and termed Samsung and SK Hynix's major investment plans the "beginning of the end" for semiconductor equipment rallies.
