Middle East Fuel Oil Exports Expected to Hit Four-Month High in June, Up Over 20% From May

According to Kpler and LSEG data, Middle East fuel oil exports are projected to reach approximately 2.4 million tons (508,000 barrels per day) in June, marking a four-month high and up more than 20% from May levels. The anticipated rebound comes as Iraq and Saudi Arabia shift crude supplies to alternative ports while cargo flows through the Strait of Hormuz are expected to recover. However, June volumes remain significantly below pre-conflict average levels of 5.5 to 6 million tons per month. FGE Nexant ECA's Middle East petroleum advisor Palash Jain noted that fuel oil flows through Hormuz are expected to increase over the next 60 days, though the recovery magnitude is unlikely to be substantial.
