On Thursday, July 23, non-dollar currencies declined broadly following the European Central Bank's decision. The South African rand fell 2.66% against the U.S. dollar, the steepest decline among major currency pairs. The New Zealand dollar fell 0.82%, while the Mexican peso declined 0.77%. The euro dropped 0.32% to 1.1375, and sterling fell 0.45% to 1.3315. The Australian dollar retreated 0.48% against the greenback.
