He witnessed the trial operation of the Hong Kong Gold Central Clearing and Settlement System and the launch of Shanghai-Hong Kong gold market cooperation with Hong Kong Chief Executive John Lee, alongside the signing of a cooperation memorandum between the Cross-border Interbank Payment and Clearing Company and Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing.
During his visit, Pan met with Hong Kong Financial Secretary Paul Chan, Hong Kong Monetary Authority Chief Executive Eddie Yue, and Securities and Futures Commission Chief Executive Carlene Chan to discuss macroeconomic conditions, deepening financial market connectivity between mainland and Hong Kong, and strengthening Hong Kong's offshore renminbi market.
