Peru and Venezuela Launch Process to Restore Bilateral Relations on July 24

According to CCTV, Peru and Venezuela on July 24 announced the launch of a process to gradually restore bilateral relations. The two countries issued a joint communique deciding to first restore consular relations to ensure citizens residing in each country can access consular protection and services. Peru had severed diplomatic ties with Venezuela in July 2024 following disputed presidential election results in Venezuela.
