Sablier Halts Commercial Operations, Converts Smart Contracts to Open-Source GPL License on July 14

TOKEN-0.43%
According to official announcement, token distribution and payment stream protocol Sablier Labs halted active product development and commercial operations on July 14, entering maintenance mode through June 2028. The company will no longer accept new payment plans with end dates beyond June 2028 on its official interface. Sablier emphasized that its underlying smart contracts operate permissionlessly on-chain and the company holds no user funds, so existing users' assets and token unlocks remain unaffected. The firm has accelerated open-sourcing of its primary EVM smart contracts from originally planned 2029 to today, shifting the license from BUSL to GPL to enable community forking and deployment.
