Samsung Seeks 20% DRAM Price Hike in Q3 as Supply Tightens

DRAM-7.98%

According to TrendForce, Samsung Electronics is negotiating with customers on July 3 to raise third-quarter prices for general-purpose DRAM by 20% and LPDDR (low-power DRAM) by more than 20% amid tight memory supply.

TrendForce's forecast suggests the broader market will see 13% to 18% quarter-on-quarter gains, indicating Samsung's proposed increase exceeds industry expectations. Samsung Electronics shares rose more than 8%, while SK hynix gained over 12% in South Korea following the announcement.
