Singapore to Launch Spot Gold Clearing System by Year-End, Central Bank Gold Custody Service in October

According to Reuters, Singapore Deputy Prime Minister Gan Kim Yong announced that Singapore will establish an over-the-counter gold clearing system for the Loco Singapore physical gold market by year-end 2026. The city-state will also launch a central bank gold custody service in October, offering gold reserve storage solutions to foreign central banks and sovereign entities to enhance its gold trading and custody capabilities.
