SK Hynix to Invest $64.38 Billion in Cheongju NAND and Packaging Facilities by 2029

According to Reuters, SK hynix announced on July 2 a 100 trillion won ($64.38 billion) investment in Cheongju to build a new NAND memory plant and chip packaging facility. The company will allocate 80 trillion won ($51.2 billion) to the NAND plant by 2029 and 20 trillion won ($12.8 billion) to the packaging facility by late 2027. The investment is part of a broader expansion plan driven by AI-related demand for advanced memory chips.
