South Korea's Domestic Banks Tighten Lending Standards in Q3, Composite Index Falls to -7

According to the Bank of Korea's lending attitude survey released on July 20, domestic banks' composite lending attitude index fell to -7 in the third quarter, tightening from -2 in Q2. Household lending saw the most significant tightening, with mortgage lending at -11 and general household lending at -14. Banks cited rising credit risks for both corporates and households, with small and medium-sized enterprise delinquency rates climbing to 1.00% as of May, up from 0.81% in March.
