South Korea's KOSPI Index Recovers to 7,000, Up 4.4% on July 23 as Foreign Investors Buy Heavily

On July 23, South Korea's KOSPI index recovered to 7,096.89, up 4.40%, as foreign investors and institutions drove buying pressure across the market. According to Daishin Securities, Alphabet's second-quarter earnings and expanded capital expenditure guidance signaled sustained AI infrastructure demand and data center investment plans, boosting semiconductor investment sentiment.

Foreign investors net-purchased 2.148 trillion Korean won across both markets on July 23, with SK Hynix and Samsung Electronics as primary targets, accumulating 5.584 trillion won in net purchases over four consecutive trading days. SK Hynix rose 3.65% and Samsung Electronics climbed 4.86% on the day. The KOSDAQ index also surged 5.22% to 790.28.
