South Korea's USD-KRW Hits 1,559.20, Highest Since 2009, as 24-Hour Trading Launches

According to Yonhap Infomax, the USD-KRW exchange rate touched 1,559.20 on June 3, marking its highest level since March 2009, as South Korea's foreign exchange market launched 24-hour continuous trading this week. The surge follows sustained foreign investor selling pressure, with offshore funds dumping approximately 20 trillion KRW in Korean equities over the past 11 consecutive trading days, pushing the won to decade-high weakness levels.
