Standard Chartered Projects DeFi Assets to Hit $2.7 Trillion by 2030, Up 37-Fold

RWA3.15%
According to Standard Chartered's latest research report released on June 15, decentralized finance (DeFi) assets locked in the ecosystem are projected to reach approximately $2.7 trillion by 2030, representing a 37-fold increase from current levels. The report attributes this growth primarily to tokenization of real-world assets (RWA) and migration of crypto-native assets to blockchain protocols. Standard Chartered's digital assets research head Geoff Kendrick noted that tokenized assets entering the DeFi system are expected to grow from approximately 3.5% to around 30% by 2030.
