Texas Braces for Life-Threatening Flooding as Central Region Gets 10 Inches of Rain

According to U.S. National Weather Service, slow-moving storms dumped up to 10 inches of rain across central Texas on Tuesday, with additional rainfall rounds expected through Thursday. Flood warnings cover much of central Texas including San Antonio, Austin, and Houston suburbs, with the agency warning of potential life-threatening flooding.

Governor Greg Abbott declared 59 Texas counties in disaster status and directed the Texas Division of Emergency Management to maintain 24-hour emergency services at elevated response levels.
