According to Edaily, on July 17, the United States and Iran continued reciprocal retaliatory strikes for a sixth consecutive day, with attacks expanding from military targets to critical infrastructure including ports, bridges, and power facilities. The U.S. Central Command destroyed surveillance towers at Chabahar port in southeastern Iran and struck six road bridges in additional regions. Iran's state media reported Iranian forces attacked U.S. military bases in Kuwait, Jordan, and Bahrain, as well as military sites in Qatar. Brent crude surged 3.5% intraday to around $87 per barrel, marking the largest weekly gain since April amid heightened tensions in the Strait of Hormuz.
