World Gold Council Releases Mid-Year Outlook; Gold Prices Fall 7% Since January Peak of $5,405/oz

According to the World Gold Council, on July 1 the organization released its 2026 mid-year gold market outlook report. Gold prices reached a record high of $5,405 per ounce in late January, marking more than 12 fresh peaks since early this year. However, prices declined significantly in June, falling approximately 7% year-to-date with volatility rising to 30%. Despite the pullback, gold remains among the best-performing assets over the past 12 months.
