Zcash Climbs 13% in a Week as Network Targets July 21 Ironwood Upgrade

ZEC2.07%
ZEC traded at $462.33 on July 4, up 13.3% over the past seven days and more than 1,000% over the past year. The price surge follows Zcash's announcement of the Ironwood upgrade, scheduled for mainnet activation on July 21, which will seal the legacy Orchard shielded pool after a soundness flaw was discovered in May. The upgrade restores full functionality to Orchard following a temporary rollout restriction in early June and closes remaining uncertainty about potential counterfeiting through formal verification and additional audits. Node operators must migrate to Zebra or updated clients before the July 21 launch.
