Base, pump.fun, and Solana's three-party alliance showcase together, with Chillhouse creating a new Meme culture

The long-quiet Solana meme scene hasn’t been this lively in ages, and it’s happening in a way no one could have imagined—Base protocol lead Jesse Pollak, renowned crypto KOL Cobie, Solana founder Toly, and pump.fun founder alon all engaging in a cross-chain “abstract meme showdown” centered around a Solana meme coin. Especially with the Base camp joining in, it feels like a “breaking of the forbidden door,” which is even more surprising given the current competitive atmosphere among blockchains.

The Solana meme coin at the center of this is $chillhouse. It’s not a new token; since its successful Minting on pump.fun, Chillhouse has been around for half a year and remains one of the key meme coins in the pump.fun ecosystem. So, what kind of coin is this? What gives it the power to connect such a cross-camp “meme abstraction show”?

Chillguy+House=Chillhouse

Chillhouse’s original inspiration comes directly from this section’s title: “Chillguy+House=Chillhouse.” That’s right—at first, Chillhouse was simply positioned as a “Frankenstein” meme.

![] ( https://img-cdn.gateio.im/social/moments- 0 b 1 d 4 ca 99 ae 17 ead 3 c 69 ffedb 8 cfa 4 fc )

Although it’s a “Frankenstein,” it embodies that rare rebellious satire found in great Web3 memes. Chillguy had a massive pump during last year’s meme bull run, but ultimately faced a lawsuit warning from Chillguy’s original creator, Phillip Banks.

That’s half of Chillhouse’s origin—“The creator of Chillguy isn’t actually a chill person.”

The other half comes from $House, a coin that briefly shined in the Solana meme Marketplace after the Trump token cooled off. At the end of April, $House broke out with the slogan “1 $House = 1 USD,” tapping into the global anxiety of young people unable to afford homes, and at its peak reached a market capitalization of $120 million.

$House During the pump, a new “version god” emerged: Fapital. Fapital runs a group chat called “Fapital Club,” where Chillhouse’s deployer @VERYKOOLLUKEY once said:

“What if we launch Chillhouse?”

Other Fapital Club members found the idea amusing. Eventually, @0xRacist created the “Frankenstein” logo—a Chillguy with a house for a head.

Six months later, this creative idea has generated nearly $169,000 in Creator income. A fun concept, a meme coin, and over a million RMB earned—this is the magic of Web3.

![] ( https://img-cdn.gateio.im/social/moments-cfb 527 b 1 bc 721 d 860 af 8 cf 84770 d 455 e )

This Creator income has been accumulating since July 20, as @RiccoRosas now operates Chillhouse’s official Twitter, and the Creator income was redirected to him at the end of July. So, Chillhouse is the most successful case of pump.fun’s Creator income reform, ensuring the long-term operation of meme coins.

Before we review Chillhouse’s journey, let me just say: when the market is at its lowest, opportunities are often brewing. Six months later, as I write this, Chillhouse and neet have become the “twins” of the pump.fun ecosystem. Both have ties to Fapital—one was born directly from Fapital’s group chat, the other was recognized by Fapital in its earliest days.

![] ( https://img-cdn.gateio.im/social/moments- 8 d 78 ed 1 cd 3 d 6 de 25 aa 99 a 548506 d 69 d 3)

The “twins” on pump.fun’s homepage

Fapital’s “lead in copy trading” style is never long-winded. If you look at his tweets, you’ll see he sometimes disappears for a while, then comes back joking, sometimes not even about crypto. If you’re not a long-term active player in the pump.fun ecosystem, you might not even know who he is. In a way, Chinese players who persist in the pump.fun ecosystem, overcoming language and cultural barriers, gain an information advantage from their persistence.

Other coins recognized in the pump.fun ecosystem, like $USDUC, $tokabu , also started growing from the low tide of pump.fun and the entire Solana meme ecosystem five months ago.

Of course, the growth process hasn’t been smooth sailing.

The Growth Process

Chillhouse had a very smooth start. Less than a week after the token’s Minting, it broke through a $10 million market capitalization. Now, as pump.fun’s Chief Content Officer, @json1444 mentioned Chillhouse in its first week.

![] ( https://img-cdn.gateio.im/social/moments-b 9 bb 11 bdb 717248 f 4963 dba 1 ad 6256 fd )

Chillhouse’s community also showed a unique vibe. After the token’s successful Minting, community members enthusiastically created funny images—not necessarily focused on $chillguy or $House, but wildly abstract.

The community’s efforts paid off with a huge success at the end of May. Members bombarded major KOLs with Twitter DMs, all saying just one thing: “Thoughts on chillhouse? 怎么看 Chillhouse?”

This “DM bombing” finally got Ansem’s attention, and “Thoughts on chillhouse?” became a meme in the Solana ecosystem. Now, when you see random “Thoughts?” comments in English and Chinese communities, it’s a simplified version of this meme. It’s not really asking KOLs for their opinion on Chillhouse—it’s more of a sticky, attention-grabbing joke, like if my friend asks about the weather and I reply three times, “What do you think of Chillhouse?” regardless of context.

![] ( https://img-cdn.gateio.im/social/moments- 10553 f 56 a 3710 c 003 ff 5 c 8 af 1 f 465 dd 0)

Eventually, this meme even got pump.fun founder alon involved:

![] ( https://img-cdn.gateio.im/social/moments- 9 d 694 d 7 e 926 b 020 ffe 6 d 9 ce 452282 ac 8)

Thanks to this meme, Chillhouse quickly attracted more big KOL interactions. @based16z jokingly mentioned Chillhouse, “Hyperliquid cut the KOL budget, Chillhouse team, I’ll be in touch.” Chillhouse seized the opportunity, “Can you arrange an interview with threadguy for me?” which got a reply from threadguy, “How much?”

![] ( https://img-cdn.gateio.im/social/moments- 78 cbf 492 ac 1 f 97 c 0 db 66 ccccc 0079 fc 4)

After this, $chillhouse started its first main rise, reaching a historical high of nearly $30 million market capitalization by late June. At this point, Chillhouse was an unignorable presence in the Solana meme ecosystem, with tons of spontaneous jokes on Twitter, and frequent appearances in mitch’s Telegram Live Channel and rasmr’s Live streams.

![] ( https://img-cdn.gateio.im/social/moments- 27 ebed 08 c 3 e 55 ebe 81 f 6 edd 4518 b 58 cf )

In rasmr’s Live, Chillhouse kept popping up—sometimes bringing “Thoughts on chillhouse?” into real life by asking random people, sometimes featuring Chillhouse in other shows. Chillhouse also appeared in other top pump.fun Live Channels, like Based DD.

Chillhouse had found its footing, but the price couldn’t pump forever. After approaching the $30 million mark for the first time, Chillhouse saw a sharp pullback, dropping about 75% in 12 days.

![] ( https://img-cdn.gateio.im/social/moments- 75473 a 973206 bce 675 aca 47252 c 8 ab 99)

Subsequent price movements weren’t driven by clear Favourable Information, making it a “painful process”—the community stayed active, content quality remained high, but short-term hype and attention don’t last for a new meme coin. Like SPX/Mog/BITCOIN and other meme coins on Ether Mainnet that have endured long-term Consensus, Chillhouse entered a tough, unavoidable trial.

During this period, Chillhouse launched an NFT series called “Lil Chillers,” with the floor price once breaking 7 SOL, showing its influence. Currently, the floor price is about 1.1 SOL.

But before discussing this “all-star gathering,” let’s address one question:

What is pump.fun founder alon’s real attitude toward Chillhouse? If he likes the coin, why hasn’t pump.fun’s token support fund, Glass Full Foundation, bought it?

I think this is intentional on alon’s part. First, pump.fun has changed its Twitter profile cover several times in recent months, each time featuring supported ecosystem meme coins, and Chillhouse has never been absent.

Second, if you look at alon’s tweets, at first glance it seems like there’s beef between Chillhouse and alon:

![] ( https://img-cdn.gateio.im/social/moments- 41 f 22 bfbe 0 e 072 b 3459727396 e 820480)

alon: “Organic (meaning community-grown, not reliant on KOLs or pump conspiracies) tokens in the pump.fun ecosystem will have big news, but Chillhouse isn’t organic.”

![] ( https://img-cdn.gateio.im/social/moments- 55 d 9 d 5 a 28711 c 946 a 45 b 6 f 0 f 95 b 2 a 3 a 7)

alon: “Can you remove Chillhouse from the picture?”

But actually, Chillhouse’s style is like a neurotic “problem child.” alon’s “disdain” and GFF’s non-purchase are actually a kind of alternative CP.

In a way, it’s like treating Chillhouse as the “Little Jack Ma” of the meme world.

All-Star Abstract Show

Chillhouse’s price hit a new all-time high yesterday, breaking $30 million, pumping about 9x from the bottom in just four days.

The reason? This wild “all-star abstract show.” Why do people think Chillhouse isn’t just lucky? Let’s lay out the full timeline.

October 21: Coinbase spends $25 million to acquire the UpOnly NFT from Cobie. Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong confirms the news, stating, “Holding this ticket (NFT) lets you force Cobie and Ledger Status to perform like monkeys, recording 8 episodes of ‘Up Only TV.’ This ticket doesn’t grant any sponsorship rights, and we reserve the right to call you a ‘fool who bought this thing,’ or ignore you entirely—not mentioning you once in all 8 episodes. Guests are chosen by us, but if we think you’re interesting, maybe we’ll listen to your suggestions.”

![] ( https://img-cdn.gateio.im/social/moments-d 4833 e 0 c 1 df 0 c 6 c 77 a 869 e 354 e 556 f 9 c )

UpOnly TV was a podcast hosted by Cobie, which ended in December 2022 after the FTX collapse led HBO to cancel its TV contract. The show was originally sold to HBO in December 2021, but was terminated after the FTX incident in December 2022. The last episode was uploaded to YouTube shortly after the FTX collapse.

In May this year, Cobie Minted the “ADMISSION: 1 SEASON OF UP ONLY TV” NFT. When Twitter users asked him to restart UpOnly TV, Cobie resisted, saying people just wanted the crazy bull run of 2021 back, not the show itself. When commenters said Cobie underestimated his industry influence, he replied:

“You claim I could recreate the 2021 vibe with a crypto podcast, but at its peak, my show was only a tenth the size of The Moon Carl, Bitboy, or CryptoManRan. That’s not realistic. The only way to bring back 2021 is to fix market structure, not market commentary. Doing Echo has 100x more impact than a podcast for that purpose.”

Cobie then Minted the NFT and listed it on Opensea for 10,000 ETH. On October 7, he changed the price to 5,000 ETH.

On October 10, Cobie listed the NFT on Manifold for 25 million USDC.

October 21: Coinbase actually paid that much for the NFT, and also spent $375 million to acquire Echo, Cobie’s startup, which he considered far more meaningful than the podcast.

October 22: alon retweeted a 2015 tweet from Cobie. Cobie’s original tweet: “In this sinful life, all I need is myself and my Pump team.” alon’s quote tweet: “That’s exactly what I’m doing now.”

![] ( https://img-cdn.gateio.im/social/moments-ae 1 a 276 fc 55 a 9085 e 1 e 3341 da 81 f 0 b 2 b )

Since Cobie’s return was a hot topic in crypto, alon’s tweet didn’t get much attention—he’s known for surfing Twitter.

October 25: Chillhouse’s official Twitter kept up its usual wild style: “F*** you Jesse Pollak, f*** you Base.”

![] ( https://img-cdn.gateio.im/social/moments- 39 e 1 c 8617 ea 51828 f 64 ac 1 b 4 d 0 c 5 ad 7 a )

Surprisingly, this tweet actually got Jesse’s attention: “Rebound.” Cobie then joined the comments: “What the hell, let me teach you how to reply to this kind of crap.” Chillhouse kept up the antics: “Cobie, you’re a trench too.” Cobie replied, “Kid, once Coinbase’s comms team lets me fire back, you’re in trouble.”

A side note: This wasn’t Jesse’s first encounter with Chillhouse. Back in July, Chillhouse’s daily antics had already reached Jesse:

![] ( https://img-cdn.gateio.im/social/moments- 33930 c 77 fc 39791 e 8 d 3287 b 78 e 3 e 882 d )

Chillhouse: “Hey Jesse, give us 1 Bitcoin and we’ll bridge to Base.” Jesse: “Arms wide open for you.” As for the money? Haha, not happening.

Back to the timeline. After getting Jesse and Cobie involved, Chillhouse “pressed the attack”:

![] ( https://img-cdn.gateio.im/social/moments-a 132 c 5 b 989 bac 2 aa 613 f 121802 f 129 aa )

Chillhouse: “Cobie, bring me and Jesse onto UpOnly TV so we can settle this civilly.” Cobie: “OK, sounds good.”

October 26: Chillhouse tweets, “I’m bridging to Base now.”

![] ( https://img-cdn.gateio.im/social/moments- 0857 ad 562 d 31 dd 810 f 06 d 53 f 50 c 7 a 505)

A few hours later, Chillhouse tags Cobie again: “Cobie is way too active in Chillhouse’s Telegram chat.” Cobie posts a screenshot of a text conversation with Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong, who says he loves the “Chilled House” joke and suggests Cobie tweet, “What’s under Chilled House? The BASEment! Base belongs to everyone!” Cobie says he won’t post it, and Brian says to ask Jesse.

![] ( https://img-cdn.gateio.im/social/moments-f 4 fc 69 d 536 c 55 fc 5 f 3 dfc 855 be 718 b 2 e )

A few minutes later, Jesse actually tweets it:

![] ( https://img-cdn.gateio.im/social/moments-d 4 c 041 da 40 cf 70 c 1 f 70310 e 6 b 377 b 641)

On the night of October 26, Chillhouse appeared in the news section of the pump.fun mobile App. The headline: “After Chillhouse and Base hooked up, another Rug,” a very abstract title, with content reviewing the Chillhouse and Base camp interactions.

pump.fun’s official Twitter also posted: “Chillhouse, if you see this news, it’s never too late to come back.”

![] ( https://img-cdn.gateio.im/social/moments- 803 e 04 b 5 b 483801 d 6 a 888 ceea 59 e 4972)

October 27: Chillhouse’s daily antics: “F*** you Toly, f*** you Mert (Helius CEO), f*** you Solana Foundation.”

![] ( https://img-cdn.gateio.im/social/moments- 87 d 0 e 941 e 47 fd 07691 bf 8 e 3 ca 1766 cbe )

This got Toly’s attention: “Reject modernization, return to Boden, Biden comeback in 2028.” Chillhouse replied, “What era are you living in, bro?”

Then Chillhouse posted a funny video: originally Chillhouse and alon hung out every day, then alon disappeared, Jesse showed up and won Chillhouse’s heart, alon tried to text for a reunion but Chillhouse was already with Jesse and Cobie.

![] ( https://img-cdn.gateio.im/social/moments- 4 ea 4 eb 192025 d 6 ac 51095 fb 2280 f 128 e )

Then alon appeared, going all out: “F*** you Chillhouse.” Chillhouse replied, “Missed out?” alon responded with a meme: “I don’t want to play with you anymore.”

![] ( https://img-cdn.gateio.im/social/moments- 0 d 7 ce 60 fb 6 f 63726377 f 0 c 8 beafbcbd 3)

At this point, the timeline is pretty much sorted. Chillhouse single-handedly drew out Base, Solana, and pump.fun, pulling off an incredible “all-star abstract show.”

Just as the x402 protocol was blowing up and everyone expected Base to push hard, the Base bosses instead came to interact with a Solana meme coin. Combined with alon’s tweet before the “all-star abstract show,” the whole timeline gave players room to imagine—could it really be such a coincidence?

Jesse’s public purchase of a bag of Solana meme coins on October 26 only deepened the speculation. That day, Jesse tweeted, “I love trenches and Troll,” and when asked if he had Solana meme coin $troll, Jesse replied, “Now I do,” posting his Solana Address.

![] ( https://img-cdn.gateio.im/social/moments-f 86 a 7 d 42 dff 007 d 72 bd 5279 a 0391 a 693)

On-chain data shows Jesse bought the following Solana meme coins: $chillhouse, $troll, $neet, $trencher, $house, $tokabu , and $chillguy.

![] ( https://img-cdn.gateio.im/social/moments- 97 f 6 b 8686 ae 09563 e 86 f 3 d 5 eae 344 d 94)

So what is Jesse’s real intention? If we go by public tweets and not speculation, Jesse wants to attract quality meme communities and devs from Solana. Just look at this tweet: Chillhouse is joking around, but Jesse seriously posts the Github page for Base’s cross-chain bridge in the comments:

![] ( https://img-cdn.gateio.im/social/moments-dd 00 ee 4 caba 97 a 36 fccd 4 b 9 d 5 eb 736 e 1)

Conclusion

Whether or not there’s a longer “big news” brewing, Chillhouse’s influence has once again grown significantly, drawing attention back to Solana and pump.fun meme coins.

This ongoing wild style has made Chillhouse’s identity clearer—it’s no longer just the early “Frankenstein” meme, but has found and secured its place as a “Web3 funster” through daily persistence, perfectly fitting the wild and subcultural style of Web3 memes.

Whenever something happens in Web3, people think of the Chillguy with a house on his head, try to cue it, and let it show off its humor. At that point, Chillhouse’s meaning for Web3 has already surpassed Chillguy—it may have been born from “Frankenstein” origins, but it’s become a native meme with iconic status in the space. It’s not a simple IP transplant like Chillguy, made just for hype, but has started to carry the joy and emotion of the community.

Although the Solana meme Marketplace doesn’t have last year’s glory, the past six months of shakeout have produced meme coins that can compete with the greats on ETH in terms of quality and identity. This is progress for Solana—the community and culture are forming, and truly excellent meme coins should stand the test of time. A chain first needs meme coins that can survive long-term and prove sustainable, then players will feel a real sense of belonging, and “P juniors” will gradually become the new “diamond hand” holders.

Even though Solana’s top meme coins still lag far behind ETH’s star meme coins in market capitalization, and haven’t matched Solana’s old meme coins or last year’s hot projects, I’ve never felt these new coins are “born at the wrong time.”

Because truly excellent meme coins will create a new era of their own.
