AlphaTON Capital launches the Vera Report app on Telegram to support anonymous whistleblowing

AlphaTON Capital and Midnight Foundation have introduced Vera Report — a anonymous reporting app integrated into the Telegram ecosystem, allowing whistleblowers to send information about fraudulent activities securely and privately.

The app uses advanced security technologies such as zero-knowledge proofs and confidential computing mechanisms to protect the identity of information providers. Additionally, Vera Report automatically deletes metadata from documents to prevent data source tracing.

According to the developers, the platform allows users to send evidence to government agencies or law firms willing to represent them in fraud-related cases. Data is stored securely and can only be accessed with the permission of the information provider.

The idea behind Vera Report is inspired by CEO Brittany Kaiser’s personal experience, who gained fame for exposing the Cambridge Analytica data scandal in 2018. She stated that after the incident, “hundreds of people from around the world” contacted her to ask how to report misconduct.

The project is also supported by a data security vision promoted by Charles Hoskinson — founder of Cardano — through Midnight Foundation.

Previously, in September, AlphaTON rebranded from Portage Biotech, a biotech company developing cancer therapies, to focus on the Toncoin ecosystem within The Open Network, a blockchain project originally developed by Telegram founders Pavel Durov and Nikolai Durov.

According to Kaiser, Vera Report is designed so that government agencies and law enforcement can directly integrate it into their websites to receive whistleblower information. A 2024 report from the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners shows that whistleblower reports helped uncover up to 43% of organizational fraud cases.

In many cases, whistleblowers can receive rewards ranging from 15% to 30% of the recovered amount in fraud lawsuits. If eligible for a reward, Vera Report allows users to provide KYC information to receive payments once the case is resolved.
