Gate News message, April 24 — CoW DAO has proposed establishing a discretionary grant program to compensate users who suffered losses from the April 14 cow.fi domain hijacking incident. The program will provide up to 100% loss reimbursement through a one-time allocation from the legal defense reserve fund for eligible victims who signed malicious transactions on phishing websites impersonating CoW Swap.
Eligible users must submit applications by May 14 via help@cow.fi. To qualify, wallets must have used CoW Swap prior to the incident and signed malicious messages or transactions on the fraudulent CoW Swap phishing site. The grant is voluntary and does not represent CoW DAO’s admission of any legal responsibility.
The proposal requires governance approval to take effect. Voting is scheduled for April 30 to May 7, with all compensations expected to be completed by May 31.
