Deep Tide TechFlow News, January 10 — Ethereum core developer Tim Beiko announced that in the coming months, he will shift his focus from L1 development to exploring frontier application scenarios for Ethereum. Tim stated that the Ethereum protocol is approaching its “endgame,” but we are just beginning to explore what the world computer can do without permission, with scalability, cryptoeconomic security, and low-cost verification.
Tim emphasized that ensuring a smooth transition of responsibilities for the AllCoreDevs meeting and the Ethereum Foundation (EF) is his top priority in the short term. He will continue to stay at the Ethereum Foundation as a protocol advisor, working with EF and cluster leadership. Ansgar has agreed to continue serving as ACDE Chair. Tim said that 2026 will be a pivotal year for Ethereum across all layers, and he is excited to continue participating.
