CME Energy and Metals Show Mixed Trading, Gold, Silver, and WTI Crude Drop on July 15

According to CME data, on July 15, trading and open interest in energy and precious metals diverged. Gold, silver, and WTI crude all saw declines in both volume and open positions. Gold volume fell by 54,619 contracts to 143,347, with open interest down 2,417 to 381,272. Silver volume decreased by 1,363 to 40,056 contracts, and open interest dropped 778 to 104,245. WTI crude volume declined by 787,554 to 917,303 contracts, with open interest down 4,896 to 1,870,600.

In contrast, copper, Brent crude, and natural gas experienced volume pullbacks while open interest participation increased, showing divergent market dynamics across commodities.
