According to Humanity Protocol, a hacker stole over $36 million in H tokens on June 8 after compromising an employee's laptop that held multiple bridge signing keys. The attacker controlled three of six Ethereum keys and three of five BNB Chain keys, enabling transfer of bridge contract ownership to their wallet. The hacker drained approximately 141.2 million H tokens on Ethereum and minted roughly 200 million new tokens on BNB Chain. The H token subsequently crashed more than 85%, falling from $0.73 to around $0.12. Humanity Protocol halted all bridge operations and said it is coordinating with exchanges and law enforcement on investigation and asset recovery.
