Man Sentenced to 2.5 Years for Cryptocurrency Fraud Scheme in Myanmar

According to CCTV News, yesterday, Shanghai authorities announced a case in which defendant Huang was sentenced to 2 years and 6 months in prison for participating in telecom fraud targeting cryptocurrency investments while abroad in Myanmar. Huang used AI face-swapping and foreign models to gain victims' trust before directing them to invest in fake cryptocurrency platforms. The court also imposed a fine of 30,000 yuan.
