Oil Flow Through Strait of Hormuz Surges to Over 10M Barrels Daily in Recent Weeks, Pressuring Iran

According to a U.S. official, oil flow through the Strait of Hormuz has surged to over 10 million barrels daily in recent weeks, supported by U.S. military efforts. The United States is pressuring Iran to comply with maritime provisions and establish a long-term agreement to ensure commercial shipping freedom in the strait.

Iran has not publicly accepted U.S. demands on the issue. Iran's chief negotiator, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, stated that control of the waterway belongs to Iran and Oman.
